Windows 10: Windows 10 Laptop Display Intermittent Problem

I have an intermittent problem with jumbled character display on a Windows 10 Laptop. For example, typing an email in Gmail on Chrome the letters suddenly jumble like this. Sometimes much worse.




In this case, I simply hit the Return key and all the errors disappeared to yield this view. Hitting return does not always work.


Then I closed the window - and reopened it several times and finally got this jumbled view which is similar to the first jumbled view.

How do you know its the display that's bad?

Laptop display does not detect itself
