Windows 10: Windows 10 Licence 'Unactivated'

Hi all.


I am running Windows 10 version 20H2 / OS Build 19042.685.


For some reason my Windows 10 licence has become unactivated. I have made no hardware changes. The sppsvc service is not running and i get Error 5 Access is Denied when i try to start it.


I have followed dozens of help pages and tried the following:

• Amended the registry
• Taken ownership of the sppsvc file
• Run sfc /scannow from command prompt which found no errors
• Downloaded 3rd party registry program

None of the above worked and i have tried them all many times.


Activation screen error code 0xC004F012. Microsoft Help crashes and does not recognise the error code!!

I asked this question yesterday but still not fixed. I did a clean install of Windows 10 this evening but licence still not activated.

Office 365 keeps giving me an error when I try an install it. What is going on!

Can anyone help me??

Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

Unactivated windows consequences

Unactivated Windows will mean you cannot make any meaningful changes to the operating system all changes will be lost after Windows is shut down

Also, it is against the EULA to run Windows 10 without licencing the software...
