Windows 10: Windows 10 Literally Permanently Deleted My Downloads Folder After Rebooting - Restarting...

Hi guys. Something really scary happened to me early in the morning. Windows 10 literally permanently deleted my Downloads folder with its contents and I am not even being informed or asked for any permission. I of course got mad because I had sound effects, many setup files and zips, paid fonts, videos, pictures, texts, Windows XP ISO file... And the more stuffs I can't list. This is happened in a unusual way. I merged a registry backup that I had deleted before. After that I restarted my computer so that it would effect better. I also ran the Windows update troubleshooter and asked me to res

Trouble deleting a folder

Thanks for the suggestion but it says "delete folder failed for E:\....." for each folder I try.

Will I be forever stuck with these unnecessary folders? *Oh Well hwell:

Suggestion:

1. Run chkdsk x: /r to make sure that there's no HD corruption.
   x: is the drive containing the folder you want to delete.
2. Try to delete the folder again. If still does not work, go to step 3.
3. Download: Download - Linux Mint and create a bootable USB using: Rufus - Create bootable USB
4. Boot up with Linux Mint and try to delete the folder again.
   NOTE: Unlike WinPE. Linux does not have any Windows permission imposed to it so it is easier to delete.

 

I deleted $Windows~.BT folder that was propably Windows 10 files. How to recover?

So about two weeks ago I deleted a $Windows~.BT folder (through the cmd). Now I know that was Windows 10 files ready for install.

How can I download it again? I'm sure I need to reinstall some update. But which?
