Windows 10: Windows 10 lock screen: Office macros not finishing / stalling when windows 10 is locked

We have a virtual Machine in MS Azure that executes a few powershell scripts and excel macros. Since it automatically updated to windows 10 1903, the macros have been 'stalling' - so the macros don't complete the automation and it seems like excel has frozen. This is only when the machine is locked.


What we have done is disabled the lock screen (no screensaver) and not use RDP to connect to it. If we RDP the console session will be locked.


We connect using VNC (or others like splashtop). This seems to resolved the issue.


SO... the question? why does this happen when the machine is locked? Is there some sort of process hibernation in place when machine is locked? the other things we notice (that is not so important) is that action center notifications suddenly popup (e.g. outlook notifications) when out of locked state.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

Windows locking up at start screen. HELP!

It will load to safemode but will lock up, it locks up at the user screen.

 

No Lock screen in Windows 10.

• When you say that "rolling slideshow ", what exactly are you referring to?
• When you say that "I can't activate it again.", are you referring that you are not able to Activate Windows 10?
• What are the troubleshooting steps which you have performed to resolve the issue?

I suggest you to follow the steps below to set the lock screen pictures.

1. Right click on Desktop screen.

2. Then click on Personalize.

3. Click on Lock Screen.

4. Try to select the lock screen picture.
