Windows 10 login: how to chnage e-mail/pin combination into name/password

    Hi,

I set up a new laptop running Win10. During the setting, I was asked to provide an e-mail address and a PIN. As a result,

    - I now need to login with my e-mail address and this PIN... which is not what I wished (to be comparable with my other computers running Win7, I wished to login with my name and password (example: "John N. Smile" / password)).

    - Windows has created a c:\user directory with a fancy name that only vaguely corresponds to my name (again, for my other computers running Win7, I wished to have this c:\user directory to use my name (so, in y example, "John N. Smile".

I visited the users tab in the computer management app, and found only one user for me with

    - a name which is incomplete (John Smile and I'd like it to be John N. Smile)

    - no password ...

Question #1; what will happen if I change the name (into the correct, full one) and set a password ? Would I still need to login with my e-mail address and a PIN or will I need to login with the new name and the password ?

Queston #2: I wish to share some of my directories. When I tried to do that (Properties > Sharing...) I see that the owner of the directory is "John Smile (my-e-mail-address)".... (thus the combination of my incomplete name and of my e-mail address). How will that work when I'll try to map this directory from another computer ? Will I need to use "John Smile" as username or "John Smile (my-e-mail-address)" and what will be the password (my PIN or a password I'd need to create (see question #1).

    Any suggestion ?

    :)

Windows Live Mail by Windows 7

    Dear All,

Core i3 with Windows 7 Home. Recently swapped the HD
due to crash & reinstalled Win 7 including WLM (Windows
Live Mail). I encountered 3 problems while configuring
my account & restoring the (previously exported) inbox.

1/ A family member of mine used my system to check his e-mail.
To do this he created a second account in WLM in order to read
his hotmail e-mail traffic. I have now deleted the account but
when WLM is launched i repeatedly get a login window
containing the details of the family member's e-mail address
instead of my details. How can i clear this and make sure that
when WLM is launched only my e-mail addres is visible?

2/ Mijn account is configured to remember its password,
and enable immediate access of my mails.
Despite of this i get a login window when WLM is started.
When i fill out e-mailaddress & password and press enter
the account is not recognised and WLM pretends that e-mail
address or password are wrong. Nevertheless i can see the headers
of my e-mails and if i close the login window i can also access & read
the e-mails.. How can i remove the login window permanently?

3/ I'd like to disable the option "leave copy on server" Where can i find
    this option in WLM?

    Thanks in advance,
    Dilbert
