I would ask for a RMA for the MOBO or if it is possible go back to the shop where you bought it ands ask if the can (physically) test the mobo and/or also test your RAM on a other mobo..

Yeah I am going to return the mobo if I can.

I just bought a DDR4 module and plugged it on my mother board, no change.

This time I know the culprit ! Still have no idea why the computer ran normally for a day before crashing.

Thank you for your help. I hope I can return here in a few days and mark this thread as Resolved *Smile

Quick update, the shop that sold me the mother board is refusing to take it back. They asked for pictures of the processor socket and said it was physically damaged. I haven't check it yet, but does this sound possible to you ? That damaged processor pins can cause all the issues I had, especially the memory ones ?

They said I should be able to repair the damages by using tweezers or something.

Also, I may have damaged some pins when removing the processor, but my issues certainly started before that.

At first i am not really a hardware guy.
But it could be that damaged/ bend pins cause all kind of problems.

Where the pictures taken before you removed the processor?

Also it is known/read that shops sometimes use the damaged pins/ socket story to not be liable for warranty.
Because you now get the "yes no debate". Was the mobo already faulty or is it damaged by the customer.

Maybe you could make a thread in the Drivers and Hardware forum.

The pictures were taken after I removed the processor. It is possible that I damaged some pins when removing it (I just checked and yes, some of them are twisted), but I am positive I did not damage them when installing it, so I doubt my issues are caused by this. If they were damaged before, I don't know, and even if I did I can't prove it.

Anyway, I can't be bothered with this any more. I'm stuck with this faulty motherboard that I'll never be able to return. It probably has faulty DIMM slots and now a broken socket. Tomorrow I'll go to an actual shop, not an online one, and by another one. And hope for the best.

Thank you for your help anyway *Smile

Should I mark this thread as Solved ? I didn't find the real issue, that's frustrating, but there is not much I can do about it.

    I would leave it unsolved.

Advice: check/ask that your current RAM is compatible with the new mobo you are going to buy.

I will, of course, but my RAM was already compatible with this motherboard, I re-checked when the issue started.

yes i know that it is compatible with your current mobo, but i meant if you buy a new different model mobo.

Idea: because it is not 100% sure your RAM is oke, we suspect it was the mobo. You could ask the shop where you going to buy the new mobo as a customer service if they want to test your RAM and if it is unhopefully also faulty you assure them that you also buy new RAM at their shop.

That's a good idea, I will try to negotiate that, thank you *Smile
