Windows 10 LTSC Mouse&Touchpad out of sync

    Hi everyone,

This is probably the most infuriating windows-related thing that has ever happened to me, a windows user for more than a dozen years.

    Here's the problem:

Mouse and touchpad will not work properly

Seemingly, stuff is severely out of sync, but it's doing what it wants on its own accord.

In chrome, clicking on opened tabs Lclick will close it it, using the scroll wheel will close it. I got mad and smashed the mouse, that doesn't happen anymore. Back to clicks not registering at all.

The same case with the touchpad and my wacom tablet

The cursor will randomly switch to scroll wheel middleclick which I never use.

Most recent update was some rubbish yesterday I believe. I had the laptop on because I was downloading stuff.

    Here's what I'm using:

    Dell Alienware 17r5

    Windows 10 LTSC

    Logitech g502 mouse

    Massdrop Ctrl

    External 2k monitor

I have tried the following, none of it works:

    Uninstall/reinstall drivers

    Disconnecting/reconnecting

    Restart

    Updating drivers

    Disconnecting external monitor

Throwing the mouse at the wall and cursing windows for such frustrating BS

Restarting fixes the issue for about 2 minutes. Other devices such as keyboard works properly.

Ctrl+alt+shift fixes the issue for about 2 minutes as well. Can you imagine having to do that whenever one wants to use the mouse though?

I am about to install recommended updates through dell's support assist. I also tried my wacom tablet, same problem.

Installing those updates did nothing. I'm going to update the Bios.

    Any help is appreciated, thanks!

    :)

I want to disable touchpad on Dell laptop

    Hello everyone,
My laptop's touchpad works and I don't want it to, because I prefer a mouse. It's a Dell Inspiron 11 3000 series on windows 10 OS.

What I have tried that hasn't worked:
    • start<settings<devices<mouse & touchpad<additional mouse options. This opens a window called Mouse Options which has 5 tabs up top, none of which involve the touchpad. The Hardware tab shows 2 devices: the mouse itself, and the USB. No touchpad there.
    • windows key+x<mobility center. No touchpad to be found.
    • various function keys. No options for touchpad on/off.
    • device manager<mice and other pointing devices. Again, only the mouse and usb show up. It appears the touchpad is working without a driver, which is a little spooky.
Any other suggestions? I could try downloading a third party driver, but that seems like a step in the wrong direction.
    Thanks
