Windows 10: Windows 10 Mail App not working for child gmail account

Hi Community, hope someone can help. I have a child account that I am trying to use the Mail app in Windows 10. When I try to add a Gmail account to Windows Mail I am unable to complete the Wizard and setup the account with it saying that it cant be set up. Does anyone know how to overcome this? I found one response from couple of year back on a similar subject where the person seemed to be able to get it to work as follows:

The default age setting in Family Safety online is 3 yrs. Switching the App and Games age limit to 16 solved this problem and allowed the Windows 10 Mail Wizard and the Calendar Wizard to complete their setup and worked.

Only trouble is I dont follow what he did and how to actually change the family safety online as described above. Where and how do I do this? Does anyone have any other ideas how to resolve this issue as I have been trying for hours.

Hello Community,

Interesting problem. I have a child account that I am trying to use the Mail app in Windows 10. When I try to add a Gmail account to Windows Mail in a standard or administrator account I am able to complete the Wizard and setup the account but in the Child
Account it keeps getting stuck on 'connecting to service'. Any insight to overcome this would be appreciated.

Windows 10 Mail App - stop sync automatically Gmail Account

Where did you get that message about mail app isn't supported? And to create application password? Can you post a picture of it?
I'm using gmail account in Mail app with two step verification and all I had to do was confirm password and second step verification.. All went smooth, and I'm getting mails in multiple Windows PCs and phone.

i don't find right now but i search for some article about that, but pretty sure that i read somewhere about that

To better assist you, please answer the following questions:

1. When you add a child account, a verification mail is sent to the child's Microsoft account. Has that been verified from the child's account?

2. Are you able to set up the mail from another child account?

Meanwhile, I would suggest you to try the method below and check if it helps.

Method 1: Apps Troubleshooter

Run the Apps troubleshooter
and check if it helps.

An automated troubleshooter is a tool that can find and automatically fix some problems with your computer. These troubleshooters aren't designed to fix every problem, but they're a useful tool to try because they can often save
you time and effort.

Method 2: Verify PC and account

As stated above, check if the verification mail has been accepted from the child's account. Also, try the steps below to make sure the PC has been verified.

1. Login through the child's account.

2. Press Windows key + I to open settings.

3. Click Accounts > Verify and follow the on-screen instructions.

Also, if there are any third party security software installed, temporarily disable it and check again.

Thanks for your reply but your suggestions were fruitless. Please keep in mind the same email account works in a non-child account. This seems like a permissions problem.
