Syncing Mailbox Setting in Windows Mail App


In W10 Mail App we can change the sync mailbox settings to 'based on my usage', 'manually' and sever time periods.

What exactly do the first two mean? And how can we manually sync them; is there a button to do so?

Change mailbox sync settings grayed out

I am trying to edit my server settings on my primary account, as I'm unable to send mail from the Mail program in Windows 10. I had changed the smtp from 587 to 465 at the suggestion of my provider, but that didn't solve the problem. Now, when I go to manage
account, the change mailbox sync settings is gray and I can't access to edit.

If there's already an existing app added in to the Mail app, you can see it's settings by following the steps below:

• Open Windows 10 Mail app.
• Select the cog icon in the bottom left part of the app window.
• Select Accounts from the sidebar, then select your email account from the list.
• Select the Change mailbox sync settings.
• Scroll down to see the Advanced mailbox settings.
• From there, you can change or view the email settings. Further options can be seen at the bottom of the window.
• After changing or viewing the settings, select Done and
  Save.
