Windows 10: Windows 10 Mail App

Hello everyone in Microsoft World. Just wanted to let everyone know who might have had the same problem I had about six months ago- involving the Windows 10 Mail App malfunction. It's taken me this long to find the proper information on how to fix this problem. What it was not doing was showing graphics or images but was just showing plain text when viewing my emails. As I said, after a long search with not much help from Microsoft except for one Tech in the Community who said the Mail App could be corrupted. After an exhausted search off and on, over the past six months, I finally found a reliable source which explained how to remove the Mail App, using PowerShell and then reinstalling it from the App store that my problem was resolved. This is the suggested solution below if you haven't already tried it.

In this Windows 10 build 10041, the Mail, Calendar, and People apps may be broken due to a licensing issue with the Store Beta. To get these apps working again, you need to follow these steps:

• Open powershell as administrator
• Run the command Get-appxprovisionedpackage –online | where-object {$_.packagename –like “*windowscommunicationsapps*”} | remove-appxprovisionedpackage –online
• Re-install Mail, People and Calendar from the Store (green tile)

 

Mail app will not open on 10041.

I did that to no avail, then I ran WSReset.exe; now I'm good on all 3, Mail, Calendar and People! *Confused
Go figure!
