Windows 10: Windows 10 Mail Apps error code 0x80072746 gmail account is not working.

My gmail account is not working in the Windows 10 Mail Apps it gives an error code 0x80072746 I've chose a secure password for this app in my google account. After that I've reinstalled with my new password. Mail Apps said done it but when I tried to synchronous to my gmail It doesn't work and give me an this error code.

First off let me answer the questions that are going to be posted. Yes I have read other posts. No they did not work. I have tried the win app troubleshooter and that thing is worthless all it told me to do is turn the UAC back on...no. I've tried changing
sync settings.

I just performed a large update to win 10 and the mail app stopped working, again, for certain mail accounts. All my mail accounts work, including my microsoft account, except my yahoo and gmail accounts. Everytime I try to sync those accounts I get the
error code: 0x80072746. The last time I had this issue I ended up doing a fresh install because I was having other issues as well, but the mail app worked well until the update.

Does anyone have any suggestions on what could be causing this and how to fix it?

I went this route and added passwords for yahoo mail. I might try this method above to get gmail to buck up! *Tongue

YAHOO MAIL FIX
2FA needs to be enabled which it already was and just follow these steps below.

1. In yahoo mails account security, click on manage app passwords.




2. After selecting other app and entering the new app name in the text box




3. Now, in Windows 10 mail app, add this type of account.




4. In Windows 10 mail app, enter your details and the password generated by step 2.




Fully functional mail app again.



GMAIL FIX

Now similar steps to setting up Gmail. Here I'll only go through the Gmail steps as Windows Mail App setup is the exact same.

Yes, once 2-factor authentication is enabled you should then create the app specific password & enter it instead of the account password.
