    This is how to fix it. Open sounds from right clicking the speaker in the tray, click on SOUNDS. Then set BOTH Desktop Mail Notification & New Mail Notification --- to the SAME sound.

    I tried everything I could find under the sun and moon to resolve this. Finally fixed.

    I hope this helps anyone using Windows 10 Mail with the issue.

    Win 10 Mail App No Sounds

    Just set up my Outlook accounts in the Windows 10 mail app and selected "play a sound" and "show a banner". App receives and sends mail OK but does not play a sound when new mail arrives. I have both desktop mail and new mail notifications set to play
    sound in Windows 10 sound files. Any idea why I'm not hearing a new mail sound?

    I also agree that it is an issue in the Windows 10 Mail app. Here is an answer I posted for Mountain Nana a while back that will temporarily work until MS gets it fixed.

    To get rid of the annoying popups and sounds, just delete the Yahoo Mail account from the Windows Mail app.

    You can get your Yahoo Mail in any browser or you can put the Yahoo Mail app on your phone.

    Hopefully MS will fix this problem soon.
