Windows 10: Windows 10 Malfunctioning

Yesterday, I noticed my start button wouldn't activate no matter what I did, and I was trying to put my computer to hibernate for the night. The cortana search button wouldn't work either, along with anything related to settings. To fix the problem, I just used the physical power button to shut the computer down (it didn't just turn off suddenly, it actually shut down as though I did it via the start menu). This morning, when I turned my computer back on, the problems had only multiplied. Now, along with the problems from yesterday, the background isn't showing up, nor are any of the icons in my task bar or task manager. The forums suggested using command prompt, but Win + X wouldn't work either. If I click on desktop icons, they still perform well, and actually open much quicker than usual. In fact, everything that still works is now working much quicker. CTRL + ALT + DELETE works as well. I really don't want to have to reset my computer or anything, please help.

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK
