Windows 10 May 2020 update Mail and Calendar lost my Gmail and Yahoo accounts

After May 2020 update; Mail and Calendar turns my Gmail and Yahoo account into ghost link. By that I mean First; nothing shows up under each account. And when I right-click each account, a small window frame pop up seems like a “Account Setting” screen but then disappeared. So at this point I have two ghost mail accounts that are not accessible and can’t delete since there’s no way to get into account setting.

Problem deepen by first, I can add Gmail from [+ Add Account] no problems what so ever BUT can’t add Yahoo. Add account screen comes up to select Yahoo than connect to server works, sing in screen and password works, 2 steps authentication by text and enter verification code works. By agreeing to allow access screen comes up, and here is where the problem starts... By click [Agree], then this screen pop-up

    Something went wrong

We’re sorry, but we weren’t able to do that

    Error code: 0x800000b

Keep in mind that at the same time Yahoo response by sending email to my Gmail account saying “New sign in by Mail and Calendar” Meaning that it successfully sign in, and also I can login to Yahoo through Adge web browser. So, whatever went wrong it has got to be from within the Mail app.

    Steps taken that Nothing works;

    1. Reset Mail app at Settings > Apps and Features > Mail & Calendar > Advanced Options > Reset

    2. Re-register Mail & Calendar app

    PowerShell -ExecutionPolicy Unrestricted -Command "& {$manifest = Get-AppxPackage *windowscommunicationsapps*.InstallLocation + '\AppxManifest.xml' ; Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register $manifest}"

    3. Uninstall and Reinstall Mal app from Microsoft Store, the two ghost accounts still there but can’t access account setting.

    4. Turn off Firewall and/or Make sure that your firewall allows outbound connections to Mail and Calendar.

    5. Re-add yahoo account by advanced set up

    Incoming Mail POP Server

    Server - pop.mail.yahoo.com

    Port - 995

    Requires SSL – Yes

    Incoming Mail IMAP Server

    Server - imap.mail.yahoo.com

    Port - 993

    Requires SSL - Yes

    Outgoing Mail SMTP Server

    Server - smtp.mail.yahoo.com

    Port - 465 or 587

    Requires SSL - Yes

Requires TLS - Yes if available

    Requires authentication – Yes

    6. Using yahoo’s App password

    7. Window PowerShell Admin sfc /scannow and DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image Restorehealth

    8. Backup all of my documents and reset Windows

    9. Reinstall fresh windows 10 from USB stick Win10_2004_English_x64.iso

I’m sure I did more than above mentioned, from every posts and from every Microsoft installation specialist I could find. Is there anything else I can do or missed?

BTW, my Mail app has been working on this Toshiba Satellite laptop Core-i5 since Win10_1809, 1903 1909 and Win10_InsiderPreview_Client_x64_en-us_18990.

    Best regards,

    :)

  2. Yahoo mail - alternative accounts

Sounds promising, I have a Gmail account. How do I verify the Yahoo account using it ?

I have sent several Gmails to john @yahoo.com, but all I get are mail failure emails back saying the account is not available. I also did this with OE a few times with the same result.

Why `o why can`t Yahoo be more explicit in their instructions. I am no dummy, but I give in on this one.
