  1. Windows 10 Media Creation Tool infected by Portable mp4 player.

I just saw a post on reddit about the Media Creation tool being affected by some error. So i decided to send this error here as well to warn users about a danger caused by Portable mp4 players and, some kind of firmware those use, that affects windows.

There is a portable mp4 player which has some very strange, and dangerous behaviour, when connected to windows.

    this is the unit:

    https://gctech.gr/andowl-mp4-music-video-player-rechargable-stereo-black-q-c790-4gb-32gb

As you can see in the second product image, there is a switch on the bottom of the unit. that switch can go to
    Left position 0-
    and
    Right position -0

this is now the very dangerous, and strange problem.

The unit has a camera USB port, this port allows you to connect the unit to a windows computer, or for charging.
note that. the unit does not have internal storage, so if you connect it to windows, no storage device will come up.
in order to add mp3's to the unit, apparently, you have to use a SDcard and then add the files, and then insert the sdcard.

    this is the problem created.

1: Connect the device to a windows USB port, using a camera usb cable. it is also called simply, mini usb cable.

2: After the device is connected. turn it on by holding the menu button. It will say welcome and goes into the operating system of the device.

3: after the device is turned on. try listening to any audio in windows using headphones, if possible:
If the switch is on the LEFT side, when you turned the unit on, the audio becomes something like "FFT" processing. FFT processing
does not sound like standard PCM playback. the audio in this mode is sharp and dangerous for the user. a warning that users should not leave the audio in this mode. for their own safety. at least from this perspective.

turn off the device. remove the cable.

Now push the switch to the RIGHT side, and reconnect the device to windows. and then turn it on again.
If the switch is on the RIGHT side, when you turn the unit on. the audio again "closes", it goes sort of back to normal. in this mode the pain in the stomache
stops, and also other strange side effects. it also disables that strange type of FFT audio processing. that appears to be also be in a smaller resolution.
when i made that error, of turning it on, with the switch on the left side, i was lucky, because i found that using the switch on the right side, can stop
this error, and the pain also. so i connected it again, and closed the audio back to normal.

This is now the thing that affects windows directly. Which is a very rare and strange exploit or vulnerability.

1: On the computer or hard-drive that you used to connect the Portable mp4 player. download the windows media creation tool.
insert a USB stick, and make a windows 10 installation media.

2: using a second drive, install windows 10 home using the usb stick.
3: After windows completes installing, type Device Manager. there should be in device manager, a device that uses an icon, that is similar
to the TPM chip icon, or other security device icon.
4: Right click on the device, and select properties. all the properties are zero:
    Device id: 0
    Port:0000
    info: 0
    name: 0
    etc etc.

this is the strange thing about that virtual hidden device: as long as that device is in device manager, it "adds" something to windows. when that happens, you will think that "nothing is missing from windows or the computer, it is full", but also, it adds something like a "blob" to the user. in that mode, you start thinking that "i have no problems either". and you can get lazy, or a bit sleepy, etc. The moment you press : Uninstall device, the device goes away without a trace, and without any processing. it simply disapears. after that, windows opens again, that "missing" thing is perceived, and you also will wake up. and then you will think "was i a bit asleep". that is the only way i can describe what that added device does.
i did not do any comparisons to the audio, while that virtual device is installed. in order to report if it changes the audio in any way, or what happens to the audio after you remove it.

    last info on the subject:
case a: If you download the windows media creation tool, on the second drive (the new drive that windows 10 was installed), and you flash again the usb stick with the
installation media. after you install windows 10 again, on the second drive. there will be no hidden security device icon.

case b: if you again, flash the USB using the first drive, where the portable mp4 player was connected to. the installation of windows will again have the hidden security device icon.

this means that, it appears to only infect, the drive it was connected to. and even if the security device appears, it will not infect installations made with that drive.

Drive 1: drive were the mp4 player was connected, infected, caused the security icon to appear when an installation media is made, and installed
Drive 2: not infected, even if the installation media is made on that drive.

This is all the info on the problem, from a user perspective.

    Other problems.

1: i also tried recording that unit into an iphone, using the lightning to headphone adapter, and using a AUX cable, apparently you cannot record into the iphone. i am not sure what side-effects it caused to the iphone. which i stopped using a while after. and only after i found that device in windows, and the audio changing, did i notice that anything happened. I have not tried contacting apple on this problem. because it makes no visible difference.

2: This appears to be the exact same firmware, that Nintendo uses in their portable consoles called "Game and watch, Zelda" and "Game and watch Mario"
this is because. when you shut down the MP4 player, it makes a diagonal blue line, going downwards.
the same as game and watch mario, when you shut it down, it makes a diagonal blue line, going downwards.

I am not sure if this operating system is called MOCOR os. or MOCOROID. or other operating system that was made using the android source code.
there is a chance, it could be using some other type of C compiler, or something like that.

Thanks a lot for reading. this is all the info i have on the subject.

The unit also plays digital radio also in a very correct way, strangely. it sounds like something taken out of a Car audio implementation. but i am not sure. that is because of the decoding of the RADIO. every song you hear with that codec, it sounds like a hit song somehow. But not in the correct way.

thanks for reading, i hope this solves a very serious problem that has appeared the last years. also users can avoid using that unit, or to patch their systems by setting the switch back to the right position, if they have already done the error and are in trouble.
