    Xbox live parties on the xbox App on my PC has loud buzzing coming from my mic, but in sound settings (test your microphone) I'm not picking any noise up. So I read that if you change your bit rate on your microphone settings it would work. But every time I change it, it reverts back to the old settings. I unchecked "Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device" but it still reverts my microphone settings under advanced tab. How can I make it save my default format?

  3. Microphone not working with windows 10

    I realize the inconvenience you are experiencing with Microphone on Windows 10. I will certainly help you.

    This issue might occur if the audio drivers are corrupted or due to incorrect audio settings.
    I suggest you to try the following troubleshooting steps and check if it resolves the issue.



    Method 1: Enable Microphone



    Step 1: Ensure the microphone is fully and firmly inserted into the correct jack.

    Step 2: Plug in the microphone and see if the same shows up in Control Panel. Please follow the instruction:

    1. Right-click on sound icon in the taskbar and select "Recording Devices". See if the Microphone is listed.

    2. If not, right-click on the blank area and select "Show Disabled Devices".

    3. Right-click on your microphone and select "Enable ".

    Step 3: Check the volume property. Ensure that it’s not mute.



    Method 2: Set Microphone as Default



    This may happen when you have the external speakers set to default. Perform the task mentioned below to set Microphone as default:

    1. On the start screen of windows 10 press the ‘Windows key + X’
    key on the keyboard and then click on Control

    Panel > Sound option.

    2. In the new windows click on the tab "Playback" and right click in the window and click on
    Show Disabled

    devices.

    3. Now check if Microphone are listed there and right click on it, choose
    Enable.

    4. Highlight that Microphone and click on "Set as Default".

    This issue could have happened due to settings of your Microphone. To resolve your issue, we suggest that you check your Microphone is not disabled and set as default. You can follow these steps to check your microphone settings:

    • Right click on the volume icon and select “Recording devices”.
    • Now, right click on an empty space and select, “Show disconnected devices” and “Show disabled devices”.
    • Select “Microphone” and click on “Properties” and make sure that the microphone is enabled.
    • You may also check if the microphone that you are using is set as default.
