Windows 10: Windows 10 - ModifiableWindowsApps Folder keeps resetting permission

Path: F:\Program Files\ModifiableWindowsApps

Effect: It disable the inheritance of the entire 'Program Files' folder and sub folders, virtually locking me out of any modification (creating new files/folder ...)

Methods I've tried:

1st Method: I tried using the 'Take Owernship context menu' and it works as long as Windows is running, as soon as I restart, the permission get reset again after about 30 sec - 1 min.

2nd Method: So, I took ownership of Program Files folder and moved all of the stuff to a new folder after that. Program Files was empty. Then I restarted and tried creating new folder in 'Program Files' which I did without any issue, but after few seconds I saw that 'ModifiableWindowsApps' was automatically created in Program Files and the inheritance was automatically disabled right after that.

I have all of my games in F:\Program Files, but when I run steam it fails to detect the installed game in that directory unless I run 'Take Ownership' command on every single logon.

Is there any way to either remove the folder or move the directory to somewhere else. It's just an empty folder, so I won't be losing any thing along with it.

Windows APP Capability S-1-15-3 SID governs APP permissions to various folders; after a quick check I noted this was found in %Program Files% WindowsAPP permissions on a fresh Windows10 VM downloaded directly from microsofts servers, src: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/...rating-systems





Resetting and or modifying these settings manually removes microsofts default permissions, Icalcs by default and through resetting does not factor in these APP permissions. Microsoft should provide a means of doing so.

 

Anyone else have a 'ModifiableWindowsApps' folder?

I've just noticed a folder I've never seen before in my Program Files folder called ModifiableWindowsApps and just wanna know if anyone else has this folder.

There is also a principal listing in its security tab for a:
Account Unknown(S-1-15-3-1024-3635283841-2530182609-996808640-1887759898-3848208603-3313616867-983405619-2501854204)

that I have no idea what it is suppose to mean.
