Windows 10: Windows 10 No Internet Access Bug

I've got internet connection but Windows 10 disagrees with me. It shows the "no internet connection" globe icon while I can perfectly use the internet. Btw I'm connected via ethernet.

This started to happen very recently and randomly. Sometimes it occurs right after it boots up. And sometimes it fixes itself without even doing anything. Troubleshooter says "We were unable to detect your networking issue, however we can reset your computer's network configuration for you as a possible resolution..." and it does the job done but it requires a restart afterwards or else I won't be able to connect to internet anymore also my DNS configuration gets reset as a result. More importantly this is not a permanent fix. After a couple of days, it reoccurs.

I wasn't really minding this bug until I figured it doesn't let Spotify connect to its servers simply because Windows 10 says there is no internet. While Chrome and Steam connect to internet and its servers without a problem. I can use browser(web) version of Spotify without a problem but when it comes to desktop version of Spotify, it simply doesn't let me do anything.

Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

Upgrading to Windows 10 from windows 7 and losing internet connection

A couple of days ago I upgraded my desktop to windows 10 after getting one of those MS prompts. However now I cannot access the internet and suspect the drivers from the Gigabyte GA-MA790X-ud4 motherboard does not support the internet drivers required. Searching the manufacturers website has not given me any joy either. Can anyone offer any suggestions?

I would suggest you to perform an Internet troubleshooter by following the steps below.

• Click on start and type ‘troubleshooting’ and press enter.
• Click on ‘View all’ on top left corner.
• Select ‘Internet Connections’ in the list and follow the prompts for troubleshooting.

Also, check if the issue persists by connecting to a different network.
