Windows 10: Windows 10 not booting when USB devices are plugged into computer

Hi everyone,


My computer started to not boot into Windows 10 a couple of weeks ago and it just sat on a black screen. I then went into BIOS and checked but I couldn't alter anything which might've helped. The blue recovery screen appeared and I have re-installed windows and took a restore point from a week ago today before a recent windows update. None of those options worked. I decided to unplug all USB devices from the computer and try to boot, and to my surprise it boots straight into windows with no issues?!


Does anybody know why this might be? The USB devices are a mouse and a headset. Nothing I believe should stop the boot into windows. I have looked at the software as well and it is just the standard Razer synapse application so no issues should occur from there.

Windows 10 USB boot

Hi there, am not a windows 10 expert. I have a pc in the bedroom on windows 10, I messed up the bootloader trying to fix the xp on that system.

System wont boot, trying to repair via win 10 usb installer.

Downloaded the media creation tool to install windows 10 installer on usb stick. Not compatible with a host of usb sticks I have. Tried the usb sticks that others use, but I think they use rufus; as the media creation tool by win 10 does not detect the usb stick.

So quick question, the win10 machine i am trying to repair the bootloader is a win7 upgraded to win10.
If i were to use the usb win10 installer to "repair installation" does the version of the iso downloaded via the media creation tool matter?

There is three options:
Windows 10
Windows 10 Home
Windows 10 N

Also is there a step by step instead of using rufus as I want to try an alternative method of creating a usb win 10 installer. Preferably with more compatibility.

System is a asus sabertooth 990 (r2?) with AMD phenom X 6.

Also is there any other software I can load onto the usb that can repair the bootloader easily?
That would be the ideal alternative. Thanks

 

Computer restarts itself when a USB device is plugged in. Need some Help!!

Hi Guys, i have a computer here running XP and it has an issue where it will reboot itself when a USB device is plugged into it like a Thumb drive or a USB hub etc, but it works fine when a USB mouse and Keyboard are plugged in. Ive tried a few things but it still crashes or bluescreens when booting windows.

If anyone has any idea how to fix this issue that would be great.

Computer is a old Compaq Evo 500 series 2002 model.

USB problem

I have difficulty booting up computer at usb ports detecting and I think of my webcam cause it.
The computer boot screen is having a big delay it freeze for 30 or 60 seconds at the usb scanning step. Sometimes in Windows it says Unknown hardware at windows opening. Could it be my usb ports that begin to sucks or my webcam is having trouble ? (No other usb devices plugged other than wireless usb key for keyboard-mouse combo)
