Windows 10: Windows 10 Oct 2020 Update Fails with error: 0x800707E7 - 0x3000D

Hi,


I am trying to update my Windows 10 Version 2004 build 19041.572 with October 2020. I have tried with Settings -> Update and Security -> Check updates. This returns with no updates available. Hence, I am trying to update it manually. I have tried with Windows 10 Upgrade Assistant and Window 10 Installation media tool. None of the approach worked.


From the previously posted questions listed below, I have verified the Profile list, verified using netplwiz. I have not found any unknown users, yet the setup fails with error 0x800707E7 - 0x3000D the installation failed with FIRST_BOOT with an error during MIGRATE_DATA operation


In C:\$Windows.~WS\Sources\Panther\setupact.log I see an entry stating Requested update for xxxx profile but actual profile xxxx.000. xxxx being the actual username. I have searched entire windows registry for xxxx.000 but did not found any.


Below are the options i have tried.

1. Check WinReg under the WindowsNT/ProfileList . No unknown user objects founds in the registry.

2. Uninstalled non-Microsoft Antivirus completely.

3. Troubleshooting in Updates and Security -> Advanced troubleshooting. -> Windows updates. Troubleshooter did not find any issues.

4. Storage-> Cleared the temporary and old windows updates, and delivery optimization data.

5. Ran chkdsk found no issues reported.

6.. Removed unessential software/drivers.


After all the above, still the update failed and rolled back the changes made to the system.


Please advice.

I'm trying to update my PC from Windows 7 to 10. I use the media creation tool and the update will proceed roughly half-way before it rolls back and i get the following error message:

0x800707E7 - 0x3000D

"The installation failed in the FIRST_BOOT phase with an error during MIGRATE_DATA operation"

I have already researched this problem on the web and tried pretty much every troubleshooting step I could find, but without success.

Hello, these days I was trying to install Windows 10 on my Windows 7 starter, as it was almost installed I got the error 0x800707E7 - 0x3000D at 56% of the final download, I was looking for answers but none of them helped me.

My notebook meets all the features to install Windows 10 and uninstall all antivirus.

I tried to update my pc from windows 10 pro version 1909 to version 2004 but every time I got the error code 0x800707E7 - 0x3000D. I tried all suggestions that Microsoft and other forums mentioned but it did not help. I disconnect all external hardware,
disable antivirus, use DSM, ...etc. but no help. Always getting the same error code. I use windows assistant and media creation tool but always getting the same error code. In my kids pc the update succeeded using media creation tool, and also succeeded in
my laptop with regular update. Could you please help me with upgrading my pc to windows 10 version 2004.
