    Windows 10 October 2018 1809 Update has removed pinned start items


    Hi


    After applying this update it has removed all my pinned items from the start menu, furthermore I can't add them back again, if I add them they only remain until the computer has rebooted, after they reboot they are gone. I've also noticed that most menu items now have 'new' against them.


    Please tell me how to reset start menu so that I can pin items to it as googling start menu location appears to show it has changed over the years, is it in the registry or in a file?

    Is worth upgrading to Windows 10 October 2018 Update version 1809; if so, what are the benefits or improvements?

    My current version of Windows 10 is working well on my computer. Are there any key benefits to upgrading right away to Windows 10 October 2018 update version 1809?
