Windows 10: Windows 10 Offline Maps downloading very slowly for no reason?

I attempted to download the ENTIRE offline maps list that is available in the settings. I was able to do so just fine, and rather quickly due to my internet speed being rather fast. Everything was fine until I told the computer to update the downloaded maps. When I told it to do that, it said there were updates, and that it was downloading the updates. I watched as most of the maps I JUST DOWNLOADED started to re-download again I'm assuming this is how the offline maps handles map updates, so I didn't think anything of it. However, I soon noticed that the first map to start downloading was downloading rather slowly, and eventually stopped downloading all together. There was no error given to me. It seemed like it was still downloading, but not making any progress. I waited for over an hour to see what would happen, but no progress was made on any of the downloads, and no error was given. I eventually had to cancel the downloads. I tried to update the apps again, and the same thing happened, but this time it all but froze my computer. I had to cancel the downloads again. I eventually had to delete every map I had downloaded with the hopes of re-downloading all of them. It shows that all the maps have been deleted just fine, but when I try to download ANY map now, it downloads EXTREMELY slowly and sometimes freezes the download until I cancel it all together.


I'm not sure what has happened here. I don't understand why the maps originally downloaded fine and quickly, but now they download very slowly, if at all. Did something get corrupted? Is there a way to fix this issue, or am I stuck without the ability to download maps now?

Disable Offline Map downloads and updates


Yeah, that disables the auto download and update....which is good. I'm trying to take it a step further by greying out the options for offline maps altogether.

With that GPO set users can still manually download...

 

NO Maps Offline

Follow these steps on how to use Offline Maps:

1. Download maps before you go offline. Then later, search for places and get directions in the Maps app, even without Internet access.
   
2. On your Windows 10 PC or phone, select Settings
   > Apps, and then choose
   Offline maps.
3. Select Download maps and follow the instructions.
4. On Start
   , select Maps to search for places and get directions on the downloaded maps.

Offline Maps for Pakistan

If you wish to download the offline map for Pakistan, then it is currently unavailable on the Windows phone. We suggest that you send a suggestion on the Feedback Hub so we can add it on the next update. To send a feedback on your phone, you can follow the
steps below:

• Go to All Apps, search for the Feedback Hub app.
• Open the menu icon at the top left side.
• Select Feedback, then at the top right side, tap the
  add button (+).
• Select Suggestion and fill up the box with the details needed.
• Select the right category, and then submit.

You can also download any alternative applications from the Store that support offline maps.
