Windows 10: Windows 10 on safe mode doesn't accept my password

Oh no no no. Closing this topic just like that? This question was asked over 5 years ago and people still bump into this problem.

I got my password reset and still cannot log into my computer after I got stuck in the unSafe Mode. This is absurd, why is this still a thing after so many years. I should have stick to overpriced apples than wasting my life on this junk of os.


So I ask. I know my Microsoft new password, I start Safe Mode with Networking, type the password and still cannot access my files. What can a man do?

My suggestion only.

If you have time, please do a Repair Install.
Repair Install Windows 10 with an In-place Upgrade

Have you tried all the above steps suggested by Sangeeta Sarkar on September 13, 2015.

I would suggest you to provide some information to help you better.

• Are you trying to login the Microsoft account or the Local account in safe mode?
• Did you try with only safe mode or safe mode with networking?
• What is the critical error you are getting?

If you are using Windows 10. To go to safe mode you have to follow the below steps.

If you are able to go to login screen in normal mode try the below steps to go to safe mode with networking.

• 
  At the login screen click on the power symbol.
  
• 
  Hold SHIFT + Click Restart.
  
• 
  After restarting your system, select the Troubleshoot option.
  
• 
  Select advanced options under
  Troubleshoot screen.
  
• 
  Click on Startup Settings.
  
• 
  Click Restart and follow the onscreen steps to go to
  Safe Mode with networking and check if you are able to login.

Safe Mode won't accept correct password

I'm trying to run a third party software (AVG Internet Security) cleanup file that recommends Safe Mode. Yet, when I get to the Safe Mode lock screen, it won't accept my password (note that I am entering the password, not the PIN - it's the same password that gets me into my Microsoft account). Any suggestions what I should try? I'm hesitant to run the cleanup file in full Windows since it's not recommended.
