Windows 10: Windows 10 on Surface Pro 3 and Miix700 keeps losing ICC color profile after calibration

As many other users, I am also experiencing a reset of the color profile after my screen has been calibrated. Either randomly (or sometimes upon rotation of the device) the color profile resets.


Latest Windows Updates and Drivers are installed on both - same symptom. This is annoying as I am dependent on the color profile to use those devices at least somehow productive when working on images.


You need to reboot the devices to have the profile loaded at startup again, until it loses it's again. (this can happen within minutes or hours, completely without any pattern)


When is MS addressing this? It's been open since months.

Hi,

can you check on the Dell unit if it also loses the calibration if you rotate the screen manually using the display settings ? With the Surface Pro 3 it works that way (which is in fact no solution).

When you rotate manually using the display settings it just loses the color profile for split second, before it reloads it again ...

HDR mode and color profiles

I have a calibrated ICC profile for normal sRGB mode. When i switch to HDR mode, it still using the calibrated profile, and giving weird colors and white balance.

I have tried to add a Rec.2020 HDR profile to ICC-profile (Advance color) list in color management. But I can´t use it at standard colors in HDR mode. Nothing happens when i try to applied it.

So to be clear:

In normal mode I want to use calibrated icc profile for sRGB.

And in HDR mode, using the standard REC.2020 icc profile.

No, rotating manually the screen not only maintain the calibration but also recover it in case it had been lost before. The color calibration blinks (turns off then back on) for a fraction of second during the rotation process.

I'm waiting for Microsoft. But I'm afraid they will not fix it or it will take too long because there are only a few people who care about this. A much more demanding solution for the broken Realtek 5.1 interactive surround since March Preview is still undone.
What to expect about this one we are here complaining about.
