Windows 10: Windows 10 only using one video out at a time.

I am currently running windows 10 Home 64-bit and am encountering a problem where it will only display out of one of the HDMI ports at any time, it doesn't matter if its from the graphics card or the motherboard, but it refuses to detect any additional peripherals after it connects to one of them. My graphics card is an RTX 2080 with 3 HDMI (and others connections but i solely use HDMI), and my motherboard has 1 HDMI port. I can switch different monitors through the one port it arbitrarily decides to use with no issue, and if I restart my computer with it plugged into a different port, it starts using that port instead and refuses to recognize any other ports, even the one that worked before I restarted the computer. All the monitors work, and all the ports work, but for some reason windows 10 refuses to acknowledge that there is more than one port at any time. It doesn't even say there is anything else plugged in aside from the one port currently displaying. I have absolute no idea what else to do. Updating the drivers didn't work, rolling back to old drivers didn't work. There is no hardware or display trouble shooter so I can't use it, and forcing manual detection through the Nvidia control panel or windows 10 display instantly comes back with a "nothing detected".


I'm fairly certain this is a software issue since all the hdmi ports display fine independently.


Is there anything I can do to force it to recognize multiple HDMI ports at the same time?

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK
