  1. Windows 10 OS Failure/BOOTMGR

Alright so this has taken me around the block again and again, im pretty sure i deleted the BOOTMANGER driveor file, not sure and sense have tried every troubleshooting method I could find to no avail. I dont really have anything on my computer worth saving, as in i only have a few games and nothing important that needs to be backed up so im not worried about loosing the system files or anything but i am looking for the cheapest way to go about this? Should i reboot off of a usbwindows 10 downloaded, or fix the individual partions? I forgot to mention that after doing a hardwareHDD and SSD installation my windows key was inactivated and locked due to my negligancei forgot to back it up before i booted and with that being said idk if i should buy a new windows 10 activation key or go through customer service?

new to the pc community and im trying to figure out the know how and its been a mess, help lolp

    :)

  2. Bootmgr ??

    Hi BadrAl-harbi,

Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

This message usually indicates that the boot sector is damaged or missing. The boot sector is a region of your hard disk that contains information that is used to load your operating system. If a boot failure is
detected when your PC is starting, you may receive this error message.

Which OS are you are currently in?

Did you try the same step to install windows 7 from a DVD? I suggest you to perform the steps again.

    • Insert your Windows 7 DVD into your DVD drive and restart the system.

(If you did not make a "Recovery DVD", borrow a like version of the Windows 7 DVD from a friend).

    • Boot the PC using the DVD by pressing any key when prompted.

    • Verify your language is correct and click
      'Next'
      .

    • Select the option named 'Repair your computer'.

    • The repair option then searches for the Windows Operating System. Once it has completed click
      'Next'.

    • Under Recovery Tool, choose the option named
      'Startup repai
      r'.

    • Windows will "try" to repair your startup problem and will prompt you to restart the PC.

    • If you still get the "BOOTMGR is missing" error then repeat steps 1 to 7 again.

    • Restart your system to finish the process.
Do let us know if you have any other queries pertaining to Windows in the future. We will be happy to help.

    Thank you.

    bootmgr is missing

OK so I have the "bootmgr is missing" calling card on my black screen of death. I'm running windows 10 that was given for free by Microsoft to upgrade my windows 7 OS. I have the windows 7 OS install disk so I can boot up with that disk and go to repair.
Problem I'm having is that the repair shows my windows 10 OS and when repair runs it drops out with "can't repair" Looking deeper I see the error as " incompatible OS repair disk". So what I'm thinking is my windows 7 install Disk can not repair my windows
10 OS. Of course my windows 10 was given in the internet downloads so I don't have a Windows 10 boot disk. I have tried the many things suggested in this forum dealing with the "bootmgr missing" and so far nothing has worked.

    Open for suggestions please.

    Windows 10 OS Failure/BOOTMGR

    Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK
