Windows 10: windows 10 password

while changing my windows 10 password, for complexity, it is given as R1964(alt+1964). it is displayed as R1964 plus a special character. but while i am giving the same password to open windows it is displayed as R1964¼ and it is giving failure message. please give me solution to open windows.
