Windows 10: Windows 10 Patching

Hello,

What is the current state of being able to manage patches yourself in Windows 10? I understand that the Home edition forces updates upon you?

Is that also the case with Pro? (by default I'm sure it is, but is there a way to create exceptions?) If so, is there such a thing as an OEM Enterprise license that can be had from Newegg, etc?

Also, does this vary between 1709/1803/1809/1909 etc?

Any reliable guides online for home users to create local policies to restore a Win7/XP type of patch management? I obviously don't have a WSUS server at home for 1-2 machines.

If there's a more appropriate forum for this, please let me know and thanks for any feedback.

Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK
