So all of the studies on the drive are complete.
There were no significant drive problems found!
Nevertheless its a good idea to always backup files and make an image of the drive.

See this link: S.M.A.R.T. Attribute: UltraDMA CRC Error Count | Knowledge Base

You may be able to get a new SATA cable that could alter this finding.
HD tune has software that allows resetting the value.
Resetting Interface CRC Error Count Hard Disk Monitoring
Keep in mind that when you view web sites there is a lot of personal opinion.

Keep all of the drive studies in a file and over time repeat some of the tests.
This way you have data to compare.

    1) Use Macrium to make an image of every drive: Macrium Software | Your image is everything
    2) Keep the image of a drive on a different drive so that it is always available as a backup image.
    3) backup files onto a drive or into the cloud.
Having files backed up and an image you have 2 margins of safety in case there is an unexpected failure.
    3) For most non SMART drive testing the results are pass or fail.
On one of my computers the hard drive has a failed Sea tools short and long generic test. It has a pass for SMART.
So there are different tests used to find problems.
The SMART tests allow you to follow trends in numbers whereas the DST and short and long generic tests are pass/fail.
Every test has false positives and false negatives as well as true positives and true negatives.
No test is 100 % accurate.
For example using Mcafee antivirus is known to produce a false positive short DST test.
So you have to keep all of the above in mind when performing tests and view results.

You are having hangs and sometimes other non-microsoft services conflict with one another.
A clean boot turns off non-microsoft services on boot so that there is minimal if any conflict.
Place the computer in clean boot and evaluate the performance.
    1) are boots faster, slower, or the same?
    2) are shutdowns faster, slower, or the same?
    3) is audio and video performance better, worse, or the same?
    4) are hangs more frequent, less frequent, or the same?

    5) open administrative command prompt and type or copy and paste:

    6) msconfig (in the pop up system configuration > move the dot from normal startup to selective startup > uncheck load startup items > click service tab > in left lower corner check hide all Microsoft services > in the lower right side click disable all > click apply or ok > do not reboot)

    7) taskmgr (in the pop up task manager > click on the start up tab > click on status so that the column sorts with enable rising to the top > right click on each row with enable and change to disable)

    8) shutdown /r (you will reboot the computer so that it is in clean boot)
