Windows 10: Windows 10 - Photos App is Lagging Videos Imported from iPhone

The Photos App is lagging the videos I import from my iPhone. At first I thought it was just because I was editing and the videos were in previewmode, but after finishing they stil lag. I already tried the 720p and 540p quality, but no difference.


This didn't happen with my last video in 2019.


How can I fix this?

We understand your concern as the videos that are imported from iPhone is lagging, while playing it on Photos App.
In order to get clarity and to assist you accordingly, please reply with the answers to the questions below:

• What is the Version and Build of Windows 10 currently installed? (Type
  winver in Windows search/Run command)
• What is the version of the Photos App installed on the PC
• What is the make and model of the PC?
• When you play a video saved locally on the PC, does it lag in Photos app?
• How is the iPhone connected to the PC?
• Are you aware of any changes on the PC prior to this issue?

Meanwhile, we would suggest you to reset
Photos app

1. Press Windows + I key to open Windows
   Settings.
   
2. Click on Apps and select
   Apps & feature from the left pane.
   
3. Scroll and look for the Photos app.
   
4. Select the app and click on Advanced option.
   
5. Click on Reset and once you see a tick mark, then relaunch and check.
   

Also, we would suggest you to perform these steps to update the app and check.

1. Open Microsoft Store app and
   click on the three dots (…) from the right top corner.
   
2. Now select Downloads and updates from the drop down.
   
3. Click on Get updates from the right top corner.
   
4. Restart the PC and then relaunch Photos app.

As of last week, the Photos App is lagging the videos I import from my iPhone. I drag and drop small clips (less than 2 minutes) and they lag!

They play perfectly fine on the Movies & TV app on Windows 10 Pro, but as soon as I import them to my Photos - Video Projects they begin to lag.

This has never happened to me before. I have tried rebooting the app, but it's not working. I use this program heavily for my job and this is quite irritating! Any troubleshooting or solutions are much appreciated.
