Windows 10: Windows 10 PIN field is not showing after an update

Hi Microsoft community,I recently updated windows 10, but when I restarted to complete the update, I tried to type my PIN to sign in, but I couldn't find the field where I put it, instead I found a "sign in" option, which doesn't do anything at all when I click. Please look at the picture.Thanks in advance.

No place to sign into Windows 10: No log-in lock screen PIN input field showing; locked out

I made some changes so I could update Windows 10 to the latest release (it wasn't downloading and installing) and now the field to input my four-digit PIN on the initial lock screen doesn't show. I have only four icons showing on the log-in lock screen -
no field to enter a PIN. So I'm locked out. Any ideas on how to correct this much appreciated.

I tried booting with the shift key held down - it comes up to the same lock screen without the field to enter my PIN, so still locked out. I also tried booting with the enter key held down and do have the ability to get into set-up, the command line, etc,
but I'm not sure what steps to take to correct the issue that I created.

I'm running Windows 10 (Windows Insider fast release) on a Lenovo Thinkpad X1, 64 bit, in Canada, and don't run any anti-virus other than Windows Defender.

I created this problem by doing a 'clean boot'

Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.

• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK
