Windows 10: WINDOWS 10 PIN NIGHTMARE PLEASE HELP!

I'm pretty desperate here.


My laptop has locked me out.


This started this morning when I decided to log in under my MS account to attach the device to MS Family Safety so I can control my sosn's activityu on this device. My account is an adult MS account and is the administrator. My son's account is still unlocked though I have not yet started the process of siging him in under hsi MS child account.


All was fine until I came to set the PIN. I was signing in with my MS password which I found irritating.


Long story short, this process seems not have worked. I got the error message 'Something went wrong andf your PIN isn't available status 0x000006d, substatus0x0. Click here to set up youtr PIN again.


This didn;t gop anywhere either, but here is where I made my possibly fatal mistake. Whereas at that point I was always able to choose to sign in with my MS password, I now found myself in settings and - thinking that this would force teh machine to recognise the PIN - I selected the option only accept MS Hello sign in. I realise now that since this was a PIN that wasnt recognised I had in effect cut myself off from sign in via my PS password.


I may have made matters worse by then clicking 'I Forgot my PIN' thinking that this migh get me back to settings. Now the screen is frozen on Enter PIN and nothing happens at all if I enter something.


Help!

Windows 10 PIN Sign-in

It is possible that the PIN set in an earlier build does not work after reinstalling Windows 10. To better assist you, we'd like clarify few things:

• Which build and version of Windows 10 is installed on your computer?
• Which build and version of Windows 10 are you using before reinstalling Windows?
• Have you tried resetting your PIN?
• Did you get any error messages after you verified the PIN you entered?

Meanwhile, we suggest that you follow the steps in this
article on how you can reset your PIN.

Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

PIN at start up

I suggest you to follow the below steps how to Change PIN password:

• In the search box, type settings.
• Then Click on accounts.
• Then on the left hand side click on sign in options.
• Then you can Select Change PIN password and remove the pin.
