Windows 10: Windows 10 Private Firewall randomly blocking internet

Discus and support Windows 10 Private Firewall randomly blocking internet in Windows 10 Network and Sharing to solve the problem; I've had this weird issue for the last several months.     Windows 10 Private Firewall randomly blocking internet


    I've had this weird issue for the last several months. Randomly all internet related apps will lose their connection and my web browser says it cannot get a DNS address. After a minute or two the issue fixes itself.

    When I look at my network adapter my IP and DNS addresses are correct.


    Turning the Private Firewall off prevents this from happening. I'm fine with my Firewall off but then I cannot play games like Forza Horizon 4 because the Xbox app cannot connect (it requires the Firewall to be on).


    I have about 20 devices on my network and only this one has the issue but here's what I've tried...

    1. Reset the Firewall
    2. Wipe my OS drive and perform a fresh Windows 10 install (no backup restores)
    3. Tried a new ethernet cord
    4. Switched my Ethernet card
    5. Replaced my modem


    So it seems to narrow down to a software issue but I'm not sure what's wrong with it. Again I don't mind if off but I need to be able to play Xbox app games so that's the only downside of not finding a solution.

    Windows Firewall blocks App Store from downloading new apps

    Hi,

    Let's try to check if the app store you're referring to if it's really blocked by Windows Firewall. See these steps:

    • Open Windows Firewall from the taskbar >
      Firewall & network protection       > Allow an app through firewall.
    • A new window will show up containing the list of the apps that ca be allowed through Firewall.
    • Look for the app you want to be accessed, and make sure that the Domain, Private and Public are ticked. That would allow the app store to be accessed.

    Let us know what happens after doing the suggestion.

    Firewall in Windows 10 blocks internet

    I have updated to Windows10 and the firewall keeps blocking my internet. I have tried everything I could find to resolve this problem but the only thing I can do that helps is turning the firewall off totaly. The problem is that once my laptop goes in standby
    or my wifi has no internet the firewall automaticly turns back on and blocks internet again. Can someone please help me step by step with either how to allow internet with the firewall on or how to get rid of the firewall all together because I keep missing
    skype messages for work because I don't realize that internet is blocked.

    Also I have noticed that since the update my wifi receiver is not as strong as before, I used to have wifi in the whole house and now if I go to another room I lose my connection, and then the whole firewall block problem starts all over again

    I have blocked IP addresses, e.g. 255.255.255.255, not URLs, e.g. somewebsite.co m.

    As far as unblocking, look at your Windows Firewall rules. Do you see anything that is blocked? If you do, click on the Scope tab and see what is listed there.
