    Windows 10 Pro 1607 to 1803 Update Problem


    My Dell Venue 8 tablet is currently running 1607 and won't upgrade to 1803 because it needs 8-14 GB of space. I have an SD card with about 50 GB of space but it won't recognize it like it did with previous updates but it does recognize it in file manager.


    Windows Update Assistant says this version of Windows 10 will work on this PC but it needs the extra space.


    I've tried reinstalling but I get similar memory errors, instead of gigabytes it only needs about 200 MB to reinstall but when trying to reinstall after moving some files to get the needed space it still fails.


    Here are my tablet's specifications:


    Processor: Intel(R) Atom(TM) CPU Z3740D @ 1.33GHz

    Installed memory (RAM): 2.00 GB (1.89 GB usable)

    System Type: 32-bit Operating System, x64-based processor

    Pen and Touch: Pen and Touch Support with 10 Touch Points

    C: Drive: 3.88 GB free of 22.8 GB

    D: Drive: 55.1 GB free of 59.4 GB


    All personal files are on the SD Card/D: Drive.


    Only system files are on the C: Drive.


    I was able to update and upgrade previously without a problem because I had the option of choosing the SD card but I don't have that option anymore. Could Microsoft reissue these updates with the option to choose the SD card because I've tried everything that I know of and nothing's working?


    Does anyone know how to solve this problem?

    Win 10 1607 update

    Installed the update manually at the the moment everything is bueno.
    It seems that Microsoft has a big problem in there update department windows 7 update has problems win 8 update has problems. Windows 10 update is so-so.

    Win10: windows update stuck at never ending loop ?

    When in win10:
    • Update&security -> Windows update -> Finding update... .... .... ....
    Planning to download the latest Win10.ISO (vers.1803) and manually update:
    - Then wait that my ordered new SSD arrives and clone the old HDD to it.
