Windows 10: Windows 10 Pro File Explorer Address Bar Has Quit Recording Paths To New Folders Visited

Version 1809 (OS Build 17763.316)
Installed 2/28/2019
Update for Microsoft Windows (KB4483452)
Installed 3/7/2019


When I visit a new folder, the File Explorer Address Bar does not record it -- i.e. whenever I click the Previous Locations down-arrow the vertical list displayed is always blank. Is there some Setting I have overlooked? How can this problem be fixed?

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

File Explorer Quick Access change

It is quite possible that your Quick Access is broken or corrupted. As an initial troubleshooting step to try resolve the issue, kindly follow the steps below:

• Open File Explorer and paste the following folder paths in the address bar and hit
  Enter.
  • %AppData%\Microsoft\Windows\Recent\AutomaticDestinations
  • %AppData%\Microsoft\Windows\Recent\CustomDestinations
• 
  Once the folder is opened, press Ctrl+A to select all files. Right-click and select
  Delete, to delete all files in the folder.
  
• 
  Do the same for both the above-mentioned folders.
  
• 
  Restart your Windows 10 computer.

Hi all,

How do we remove the "Address bar" from "file explorer", while in "tablet mode"?

This is for Windows 10 - Enterprise

We tried the 2 steps below.

1- This will work for the FullPath, but not FullPathAddress

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\CabinetState

FullPath and FullpathAddress

0 = display name

1 = display full path

2- no luck with this one too.

We tried the Offset trick 0018 from this article Explorer Menu Bar removal
