Windows 10: Windows 10 Pro - Help with Keyboard Freezing Plus Blue Screen Driver Power State Failure

Computer: HP ENVY 17-ae108ca Laptop less than 1.5 years old

Storage:1TB NVMe SSD

Memory: 16GB

Architecture: 64bit
OS: Windows 10 Pro

As of a couple of weeks ago, my keyboard has started freezing on a seemingly random basis. That is, sometimes it occurs only once or twice throughout an entire day, and on other days it occurs two or three timesan hour.



When the keyboard freezes, the computer appears to be otherwise normal as the BT mouse and the laptop touchpad are still functional. Using either, I can switch open windows, I can launch and close apps, and I can browse the web, etc.



Every time I attempted to clear the problem by initiating a Restart clicking Windows Start...Power...Restart, the normally fast action takes an extremely long time and ultimately ends in a blue screen with a stop code error of DRIVER POWER STATE FAILURE. At this stage, the only option is to power off the computer, and that is what I am now doing every time the keyboard freezes instead of attempting a Restart.


By the way, the keyboard froze while composing this request for help and, using the mouse with right-clicks and context menus, I was able to copy my almost completed message into a Word doc and save it so I could recover it after powering off the computer.
