    Windows 10 Pro instead of Windows 10 Home was installed


    I purchased a used Dell OptiPlex 7040 with no drives. I purchased a new M.2 SSD and installed it. I purchased Win10 Home and have my key. I downloaded all software to create a USB and the ISO to create a DVD. No matter what I use to install, it always install Win10 Pro without any options to install Home. Apparently there is a Win10 Pro Key in the bios. I have tried everything to clear it but to no avail. I read another thread from 2018 that suggested creating a PID.txt file with my purchased key in it and placing the file in the Source folder on the thumb drive. Nothing seems to work. It installs Win10 Pro every time and when I check the activation page it says it is activated. This isn't what I paid for and since I purchased this for my elderly mother to use I don't want her having any issues. PLEASE HELP!

    Clean Windows 10 (?PRO?) install

    I have bought a legit "Windows 10 Pro" key of a key website. It is legit since i'm currently using it for over a year now. I currently have Windows 10 Pro installed on my PC and I want to do a clean install. I just can't find the windows 10 Pro download in the tool. But if i could use a windows 10 pro key with a normal windows 10 install, I'll be good to go.

    As far as I am aware there is no Windows 10 Pro version.
    But I'd be happy to be wrong.

    Nope, you need to install Windows 10 first and make sure the Windows 7 key is transferred to your Windows account after you've installed Windows 10 (not quite sure how that works). I missed the last step and I could not activate Windows 10 after a re-install... Microsoft seem to have done everything they can to make it a PITA. Also, it's technically too late to do this now anyhow, as the upgrade offer has expired. But KMSPico works quite well...

    As for getting rid of Windows, delete the Windows folder.
