Windows 10: Windows 10 pro purchase

I recently purchased windows 10 pro on my windows pc through the microsoft store. However, since then I have had a watermark in the bottom right of my screen telling me I need to activate windows. When I go to activation in settings I see this error message and code:


We can't activate windows on this device because you don't have a valid digital license or product key. If you think you do have a valid license or key, select Troubleshoot below. Error code: 0xC004C003


Of course I have selected troubleshoot and its unable to tell me anything even remotely helpful. I have also looked up this exact error message multiple times and haven't found much info pertaining to my exact case. The transaction is currently under pending on my card and in the microsoft store it says that I have purchased windows 10 pro, gives me an order number and says the transaction is completed. However, when I click on the purchase, I am redirected to a page with this prompt:

We are sorry, the page you requested cannot be found.​

The URL may be misspelled or the page you're looking for is no longer available​

I also have not received a confirmation email for my purchase and am unable to find my product key anywhere. I did notice that my billing address has a space in the middle of my street name that shouldn't be there and since my transaction is technically still pending on my bank account, is it possible that the transaction is struggling to go through and may be cancelled? But I have made purchases through the microsoft store with this information and haven't had problems before.​

Can't upgrade from Windows 10 Home to Pro

I suggest you to download and create an installation media for Windows 10 Pro form the link provided below:

Download Windows 10

After the installation media is created, suggest you to upgrade to Windows 10 Pro from the installation media. When the upgrade asks for product key, enter the product key purchased for Windows 10 Pro. If it does not accept, suggest you to skip the activation
step. After the Operating System is installed, suggest you to activate by phone by following the steps below:

• Press “Windows key + R” and type “slui 4” and press Enter.
• Select the Region from the list and click Next.
• Call the Toll-Free number provided on top and can activate via phone.

Which is good news actually, because Windows 8.1 is loads cheaper than previous versions (retail licensing at Windows 7 OEM prices). And it sort of puts a huge hole in the Windows subscription theory.

 

Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK
