Windows 10 Pro slowdown issue by: Service Host: Diagnostic Policy Service

    Hello Guys and Gals,

My computer performance has dropped like a rock.

In Task Manager is something using about half cpu and memory and it says the following.

Service Host: Diagnostic Policy Service svchost.exe -k LocalServiceNoNetwork -p -s DPS

I ran dozens of various scans which I will list below:

    sfc /scannow

DISM to many commands to list all in admin cmd prompt.

    MAlwarebtyes

    Bitdefender

    ADWcleaner.

I even uploaded svchost to virustotal and jotti and all come back as clean.

I ran lots of virus scans as shown above and hitman pro and others.

System all shows as clean and working.

I even did a selective startup with everything disabled and still have issue.

Does anyone have any idea of what is causing my issue?

Or a way to fix it without having to reinstall windows?

    Thanks in advance

    Gren

    :)

Slowdowns and Crashes from Service Host: Diagnostic Policy Service

    Hello,

I'm running Windows 10 on my desktop and I have recently been getting huge slowdowns due to the Service Host: Diagnostic Policy Service process. I can force quit the application, which restores normal system function for 10-15 minutes before it slows
down again and I have to once again end the Service Host.

I have tried doing a clean reinstall of Windows 10 but the problem persists. I suspect the source of the problem is with the hard drive itself slowly failing. I have tried to clone the partition containing my OS onto another drive, but my computer
crashes during the cloning process. Any thoughts on how to proceed?

    Thank you!
