Windows 10: Windows 10 Pro strange Locking after update

Hello,


I got laptop HP 840 G3 from ebay with Windows 10 Pro installed (sticker on the bottom).

This is used laptop from US.


Laptop worked fine but after two days Windows has updated and after reboot I got white screen with the next text:


"The device has been locked due to being identified with the primary user being on Leave.

If the user still on Leave please inform them that this system will remain locked until they have returned to work. If the employee has returned from leave please follow the steps bellow:

1. Segwick (1.866.697.8122) needs to be contacted to be informed of the employee return.

2. Ones Segwick has been contacted and they state that the return has been updated in the system, please do the following...


3. Work with your supervisor fill out the Escalated LOA form found on The Hub.


The form can be found by logging into HR Direct.... (more words)

I don't understand what does it mean.

Next:

- default BIOS settings (any locks on BIOS)

- flash bios to a newest

- contact seller with no reply

- reinstall Win10 with no success

- reinstall Win10 to a second new SSD but no success (locking after 1-2 days again)

- contacted HP and Microsoft support and they told me that neither HP or Microsoft have any blocking methods like this (maybe they are not competent)


If it's some corporate blocking where I can find solution? Is this Microsoft blocking the laptop or HP hardware and how can I switch off it?


Laptop is unusable. Need help. Thanks.

Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

Microsoft to make Windows 10 updates mandatory

Well, at the moment at least, you can choose to defer upgrades. Under Settings > Windows Updates > Advanced options you need to check the box labeled "Defer upgrades". What does that do? Good question. The answer I've found might illuminate it to a degree.

I hear this only applies to Pro and Enterprise editions. But I can't verify that.

Well just noticed a pretty large one pop up coming in at 914MB, seems it makes some pretty serous updates.
