Windows 10: Windows 10 pro update

My home laptop I had not used for awhile and I turned in on a few nights ok to run updates, etc. I have it set on automatic and after this I should probably change. At any rate, a Windows 10 pro update was installed. I can't activate. I get this warning message: WEcan't activate Windows on this device as we can't connect to your organizations activation server. Make sure you're connected to your organization's network and try again. If I continue to have problems, I as suppose to contact my organizations support person. Error code: OxC004F074. I am my organization. this is my personal laptop. I can't do a system restore because I did not have any restore points. So frustrated. Can someone give me a solution how to go back or delete it. I need something simple, as I am not an IT person. Thank you

Microsoft to make Windows 10 updates mandatory

Well, at the moment at least, you can choose to defer upgrades. Under Settings > Windows Updates > Advanced options you need to check the box labeled "Defer upgrades". What does that do? Good question. The answer I've found might illuminate it to a degree.

I hear this only applies to Pro and Enterprise editions. But I can't verify that.

 

Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

Well just noticed a pretty large one pop up coming in at 914MB, seems it makes some pretty serous updates.
