    Windows 10 Process frozen / suspended


    windows 10 (since version 1803) started to suspend some processes randomly upon launching them, or at certain times.

    this happens for some games I have when I launch them, to google chrome if I open certain URLs(the same URL works fine on edge, though), or even some keywords.

    the process just becomes suspended in task manager, and I am unable to use the app/game when it happens. it's just frozen. I can only terminate the process in task manager.

    I have tried running a full virus scan, running DISM and SFC, re-installing chrome and any affected game, running windows update troubleshooter, clicking 'start' on the process from resource monitor or process explorer, and running a clean boot. But none worked. Device performance & health also shows nothing is wrong.

    I do not wish to re-install windows. I have a slow internet connection, and re-installing all my games would take me a few actual weeks at this point.

    Resume/Suspend Process

    Hi

    In newer Windows 10 versions, windows automatically suspend processes if needed and resume them too.

    I don't think you have a need to suspend them manually.
