Windows 10: Windows 10 randomly reboots!?!?

Hi lads, just very recently (like the past 2 - 3 weeks or so) Windows just randomly reboots for no reason. Sometimes it does it when it's idle, sometime while it's in use, sometimes right away, sometimes it won't do it for a while. I can almost always force it to do it by loading the Photos App and waiting like 5 - 20 seconds. The Photos App will almost consistently force a reboot. I am at a complete loss. I'm wondering maybe this is due to a recent update. I've had no recent hardware (or software to my knowledge) changes made to my system.


Things I've tried that have made no difference.

- unticked "automatically restart" in "Startup & Recovery"

- unplugged every USB device connected to the computer

- changed msconfig to start up with ONLY Microsoft Services enabled


One thing that seemed to work but it's not something that I can keep doing is: I started the computer in "Diagnostic Startup" mode via msconfig which I assume disabled everything including Microsoft Services on startup. This seemed to stop the computer from randomly restarting but of course it meant I had no internet and other things I need etc...


Anyway if anyone has any clue what the hell's going on that'd be amazing. (the photo app forcing the reboot has me super puzzled)

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

Windows 10 freezes randomly

Hi,

To better assist you regarding Windows 10 which freezes randomly, please provide the following:

• Which is the last Windows update build you've applied to the computer?
• Are there any third party applications that are currently installed?

Furthermore, we suggest that you do a BIOS update to your computer. Here are the steps:

• Check the motherboard manufacturer's website to find the specific model of your motherboard.
• Go to the computer manufacturer's website.
• Look for the computer model that you're using.
• You should find any available BIOS update.

Windows 10 freezes randomly

I had already tried turning off fast startup, to no avail.
Will look at the list you provided, thanks. Hard to do when computer freezes on the Windows loading screen though. *Biggrin

I had tried that as well... no result.
