Windows 10: Windows 10 randomly wakes up from sleep. Lastwake empty

So as the title says, every now and then Windows 10 randomly decides to wake itself up from sleep. It doesn't happen at any consistent time, some days it stays asleep until I actually turn the PC back on. Using powercfg /lastwake just gives me a wake history count and doesn't provide any information.

I can't figure out why this is happening. I've tried googling it and have found similar complaints but no real solution. It's not hardware that is waking it up and I have already disabled the "allow wake" setting for my network adapters in device manager. Can someone please help?

Windows 10 won't go to sleep automatically

If you run the below command it will let you know what woke it up. In my case, it seems to be Virtual Box (granted sleeping a computer with VMs open isn't recommended).

I have already disabled scheduled wake up in power management, and every hardware that has the power wake option.

I have used CMD/Powershell with Admin rights to check powercfg /lastwake/waketimers and -devicequery wake_armed.

/lastwake just shows [0] on record and 0 for wake source, while wake_armed is none.

I used Win7 Before Windows 10, and had most frequently used the Sleep Mode rather than shutdown. Now each time I put Win10 to sleep, it would just wake up in an hour or so.

This is bothering me a lot, since I like my system start in an instant. I have a
ASUS P8Z68 board, and the bios startup is very slow (about 1~2 minutes), so regardless how fast Win8/10 had increased their startup speed, it doesn't matter to me.

However, if this is the case, why would TV be able to bypass the system disabled scheduled wake up option?

 

The issue was caused by TeamViewer, it creates wake timers that are somehow ran even though wake timers are disabled. Try to uninstall TeamViewe.

 

Yes, I had exactly the same issue and it was caused by TeamViewer.
