Windows 10: Windows 10 Re-install problem

I have a HP Pavillion 510-127c desktop which suddenly went black screen and failed to reboot even after repeated power shutdown and up. Suspecting harddrive failure, I installed a new harddrive and tried to re-install Windows 10 using an Installation Media which I had created from my other working machine. The re-installation process completed through several stages i.e. install of windows, updates etc. up to the point where 'Getting Ready' message was being displayed and then screen went blank and nothing happens after that. In short, re-installation doesn't seem to have completed successfully. I tried to re-install from beginning a few times and it always reached the 'Getting Ready' before it went dead. I tried power shutdown and power up after that and the external monitor screen remains blank. Any idea why re-installation process doesn't seem to complete successfully?

could someone please list the steps they follow to install windows with a dual core processor and windows xp service pack to. I'm reletively new to amd dual core and i feel i'm missing a step. All help will be appreciated. thanx

It's basically what I mentioned above, small issues here and there ,but nothing to end your day.. for the most part.

I know it's anecdotal, but for my experience 95% of the time it's perfectly fine. The issues I've run into wouldn't be enough for me to roll back , but they would be enough (had I not installed it yet) ,to avoid it for another couple weeks which is why I'm suggesting it to the OP
