Windows 10: Windows 10 Reactivation

There was a lightning storm that struck outside my house and somehow managed to get to my PC's motherboard through my router, via an Ethernet cable. Afterwards, I see that I suddenly have to activate Windows again. I used my free, reserved copy of Windows 10; as I understand from what I have read (at https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4000735/windows-10-reinstall) it appears I should have a digital license attached to my account even if I used my free copy already. Nonetheless, I reinstalled Windows via the media creation tool and when I go to sign in, it claims I have no valid digital license when it should be attached to my account; it is still asking me to activate it. I would rather not pay for a new copy of Windows if I don't have to. Please help!

Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK
