Windows 10: Windows 10 Reboot Loop

Good day all,


Recently I have had a problem with my audio and video out functionality.


After a lot of troubleshooting on the software side, my last resort was to perform a clean installation of the OS to make sure that the hardware was faulty.


I already have a licensed version of Windows 10 Home x64 bit (preinstalled on the laptop).


I created a partition on my hard drive and downloaded the Windows 10 x64 bit .iso file from the Microsoft website so I can install it in the new partition.


Unfortunately during the installation process, an error was displayed:


"Windows could not finish configuring the system"


I tried using the out of box experience but that did nothing. So I restarted and was displayed with the advanced startup.


I could continue the installation (error remains) or I could rollback the installation or I could boot into my original Windows 10.


I decided to rollback the changes, however during the process, I am stuck in a reboot loop. I cannot access anything.

In the attached image link, this screen displays for around 0.5s then reboots and then continues. Please help. I cannot access Advanced startup.

• Have you checked if the hard disk is set as first boot device in the BIOS?
• Which version of Windows is installed on the computer?
• What did the HP supported suggested you to fix the issue?

This issue could have occurred due to these reasons:

1. Conflict between third party applications.

2. Conflict between external devices.



Try the steps listed here:



Method 1:

I suggest you to unplug all the external devices except mouse and keyboard and check if it helps.



Method 2:

If the issue persists, I suggest you to boot the computer to Safe Mode and check if the issue occurs. If the issue do not occur in Safe Mode, I suggest you to set the computer in a clean boot state and check if it helps.



Step 1:

Step 2:

If the issue do not occur in Safe Mode, perform a clean boot and check. Setting the system in a clean boot state will help to identify if any third party applications or startup items are causing the issue.

Windows 10 stuck in reboot loop

Thank you for posting in Community, we apologize for the inconvenience caused and we will try to assist you in the best way we can.

As per your query, I am led to believe that you re currently stuck in a reboot loop. I would suggest that you perform power drain and check if you are able to restore back to your normal desktop. To do so follow the steps below:

• Unplug the charger and remove the battery of your laptop, if using a desktop remove the power cord.
• Press and hold the Power button for 30sec
• Plug the charger/power cord and restart system.

I would not suggest that you format your hard drive due to the reasons below:

1. If your system was installed with Windows 8.1 at the time of purchase, formatting it will lead to a lost of your product key, as the key is pre injected to the motherboard.

2. You will be unable to activate the OS and you will have to contact your systems manufacturer if you are faced with any driver related issues.
