Windows 10: Windows 10 recovery disk issue.

using the same recovery disk on the same PC. If I use the first screen option to rebuild my pc to a state it was first made, no data at all the recovery software can build the Pc that will then works, if I use the second screen to rebuild the PC as it was when the system image was created, the recovery software can not find the raid array and requires the install disks with the install software for the raid card. As the Pc was installed with windows 7 professional, then the online upgrade to windows 10, I do not have the system install files for the raid controller for windows 10 to load on during the recovery using the system image. so I have no option but to loose all my data.

The PC is a Dell Precision T7500 and the LSI_sas.sys is the driver used if I allow the recovery to recreate the system with no data. but I would prefer to be able to put all my data back so how can I obtain the install files required as neither Dell of LSI now support the raid under windows 10

Recovery Disks

• Type “Recovery” in search box and press Enter.
• Select the option to create a recovery disc and follow the prompts to create a recovery disc.

XP disk versus Laptop Recovery Disk?

Recovery disks are just OEM copies of XP disks. Ie, they can have things such as the companys logo within the files.

If you got a normal XP disk you cant use it. The only way your dads copy of XP will activate is if your normal XP copy is OEM, unless you use the recovery disk.

I always use the recovery disks. Works just like a normal copy *Smile . Plus with the recovery disks you dont need the serial key as I *think* its embedded into the files on the disk. Just need to activate windows once on the net *Wink .
