  1. Windows 10 reverting to Home during clean reinstall

I have a Dell Inspiron 3793 that is running Windows 10 Pro. In Settings>Update & Security>Activation, it shows:

    Edition: Windows 10 Pro

Activation: Windows is activated with a digital license linked to your Microsoft Account.

When I attempt to perform a clean install of Windows using the Media Creation Tool I end up with Windows 10 Home. Settings>Update & Security>Activation shows:

    Edition: Windows 10 Home

Activation: Windows is activated with a digital license linked to your Microsoft Account.

I have attempted this a couple of times and have had to restore my system from a backup to get back to Windows 10 Pro. Each time during the installation process I click on "I don't have a license key" and sign into my Microsoft Account as an Administrator.

I checked the computer specifications on the Dell website and the laptop had Windows 10 Home when it left Dell. I bought it from Best Buy with Windows 10 Pro already installed. Running slmgr /dli in Command Prompt Admin, I get:

    Name: WindowsR,Professional Edition

Description: WindowsR Operating System, OEM_DM channel

    Partial Product Key: XXXXX

    License Status: Licensed

With other computers that I've had in the past, upgrading from Windows 10 Home to Windows 10 Pro always reinstalled Windows 10 Pro with no issues. Is there some step I'm missing?

    :)

Reinstalling Windows 10 to sell a PC - is the 'Remove everything' option enough?

Restore factory settings do list Removes your personal files, apps and settings, and reinstalls the version of Windows that came on this PC.

So if this isn't true well than just erase the drive and install a clean Windows 10 with all the drivers u need but why should it be true
    @FordGT90Concept ? *Laugh :laugh:

Windows 10 upgrade problem, no input accepted

I really hate having to come here and ask for help, but I really am stumped. It hurts my geek pride. I have a PC with fairly modern hardware in it. It has a p8p67 pro in it. I have tried upgrading windows 10 on it twice now. Both times I have had the same result.

After windows finishes upgrading it goes to the log in/set up screen. I can't do anything. No keyboard or mouse input is accepted.

I will list some, or hopefully all, of the troubleshooting steps I have tried:
    • Move keyboard and mouse to different USB ports.
    • Try different keyboard or mouse.
    • Restart computer, repeatedly.
    • Google for related issues.
    • Update Bios, because why not.
    • Create boot media and revert to windows 7.
The windows 10 system restore boot media works fine with keyboard and mouse. All USB ports work in windows 7. I don't know what is wrong. I suspect that windows 10 is lacking a driver of some sort, but since the computer accepts no input I have no way of checking for which driver let alone installing it.

Please help me figure this out. If I have to revert back to windows 7 again, I am not going to get it upgraded to windows 10. Thank you in advanced.
