Windows 10: Windows 10 RTM “Almost” Ready, Microsoft Now Working on Bug Fixes...

Keep in mind.. what you want is not necessarily what others want;

 

Not just others, the majority.

 

The "majority" want what?? Inquiring minds want to know.. well I'm happy with Win10 features right now.

 

The wants have been discussed everywhere. Start menu is one. Where have you been?

 

From what I've read the start menu will be resizable in upcoming builds or the RTM. Other than that the start menu is fine... well the way I look at it it's fine.

 

I've heard about that long time ago during Win 8 days.

Do you have Windows 7?

Some articles tie RedStone's rumored release schedule to Win10 RTM, but ... that's rumored too!

Even if the final content is decided, the release date will be determined by development status. Recall that the original expiration of the Technical Preview was April 15 and is currently October 1. This gives MS plenty of time and plenty of wiggle room.

So there ya go - a rumor wrapped in a rumor.

One interesting tidbit form one article is that the TP Insider program will continue - that must mean that there will be an offshoot similar to a Consumer Preview to test the beta code (as opposed to testing continually changing feature sets). I haven't heard anything, but it will be easy enough - just change the flight branch.

 

I had Win7.. but no longer. ..

 

10 intrigues me, I still don't know why I'm not using my 8 Pro in dual boot, but 7 is the best.

 

I enjoyed using 7 but IMO.. 10 is everything I want in an OS.. *Smile

 

I will use 10 (like I say, I still don't know why I haven't reinstalled my 8 Pro) but apart from possibly being quicker I don't see what 10 will offer me that I don't have in 7. Having played around in VMs I end up with a system that mirrors my 7 install. Maybe I'll find out more when it comes to RTM and I install it on its own SSD.

What does it offer you that 7 doesn't?

One thing I like is the ability to use apps from the MS store. And I have to admit I'm a sucker for new OS's. But in the end I might stick with 8.1.1. It meets my needs nicely, with classic shell I have a good start menu and it's just about the same as Win10 is for me at least.

While Win10 is nice.. it's far from earth shattering. IMO
